about me

Tanja Frieden Olympic Champion

The purest connection between motion and lifestyle – that's snowboarding for me!Snowboarding is the ideal connection between movement and lifestyle for me!

At the age of 13, I stood on a snowboard for the first time. Since then, the passion has never ceased to captivate me – it absolutely has shaped my life.

Defining moments as an Athlete

The first World Cup Race 1996, the silver medal at the European Championships 1999 and finally Olympic gold - 2006 in Turin in Snowboard Cross. In-between, 32 World Cup winner's podium places, five medals at the Winter X Games, ranked top 3 in the world rankings and voted Swiss Female Athlete of the Year in 2006.

In 2010 – the painful end - the serious fall and my withdrawal from competition.

Defining moments as a Person

Snowboarding as a top-class competitive athlete was yesterday. Today, snowboarding means movement in nature, and delivers my source of energy. I have learned to consciously sense nature and move within it – both in winter and in summer. Body movement triggers motion in thinking. The search and delight of new movement patterns inspire me.

The combination of my experience as a world-class athlete plus my education and continuing training - precisely, these new movement patterns for body and mind – are what I pass on as coach, mental trainer and speaker for business leaders, athletes and private persons. I support individuals and teams in their personal growth and therein, help them to achieve their goals.

In addition to my entrepreneurial work, I am an ambassador for charitable projects such as, “Right to Play”. In addition, I am President of SnowsportInitiative.ch – a national project to advance snow sports, in collaboration with representatives of Swiss industry and the Swiss federal government.

Since 2013/13 I am married to the professional kite surfer Marc Ramseier. In January 2016 son Luam Kai was born.
